Introduction
The war in Ukraine forced the mobilization of all resources for the defense of the country. This applies not only to weapons and ammunition, but also to high-tech equipment such as drones and optics. This equipment is very expensive and difficult to repair, however, as experience shows, the repair of drones and optics helps to save colossal funds for our army.
Our organization repairs drones and optics for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. During 10 years of operation, our organization repaired equipment worth about 30 million euros. But the repair of this equipment cost much less, how much less, read below.
In 2023 alone, VOL repaired free of charge military equipment worth about 9 million euros for Ukrainians. This saving of funds makes it possible to use them for other needs of the Ukrainian army, for example, for the purchase of additional equipment or to help those affected by the war.
Price
How much did it cost to repair complex optical equipment with a total cost of 30 million euros? Do the math yourself. Previously, the repair of drones and optics was much more expensive, reaching about 20% of the cost of a new device. However, thanks to the improvement of technologies and acquired experience, it was possible to significantly reduce the cost of repairs.
Currently, repairing drones and optics costs only 7% of their original price. Repairs still require a tremendous amount of money, but they save much more money that saves the lives of our citizens and makes it easier for our military to carry out their combat missions.

Intelligence
Optical instruments play an important role in reconnaissance, giving soldiers the ability to see over long distances and in difficult meteorological conditions. This can be critical for detecting enemy formations, fortifications, enemy movements, and other important intelligence.
Fire adjustment
Accurate aiming of the weapon is a key factor for success in combat. Optical instruments help soldiers and artillery teams adjust their fire for maximum accuracy and effectiveness.
Search and orientation
Optical devices can be indispensable tools for searching and rescuing people in the dark, debris or other difficult conditions. Also, with the help of optical devices, it is much easier to navigate the terrain.
Target marking
Laser pointers and other optical devices can be used to precisely mark targets. This can be important for coordinating attacks, targeting, and preventing friendly fire.
Repair of drones: advantages
In addition to saving money, repairing drones and optics has other advantages:
Reduction of damage to the environment. The production of a new device is always associated with the use of a large number of specific materials, the extraction and processing of which have a negative impact on the environment. Repair allows to reduce this impact.
