The urgency of repairing optical and electronic devices for the military

The war in Ukraine presents society and the country with new challenges, in particular, regarding the provision of brigades and units with modern and serviceable equipment. Optical devices such as spotting scopes, thermal imaging sights, thermal imaging devices and night vision devices play an important role in combat, enabling soldiers to see further, more clearly and in different conditions.

Given the intensity of hostilities and the fact that not all opto-electronic devices are designed for use in such difficult conditions, they often fail. At this stage, there is a choice: purchase of new equipment or repair of damaged equipment. And often, preference is given to the latter and there are several reasons for this.

Low cost of repair.

The cost of repairing an optical device, as a rule, is 10-15% of the cost of a new similar device. Specialists of our organization were able to reduce this value to 7%. Repairing equipment saves significant money, and this is especially important in conditions of a limited budget.

Complicated or absent import of new opto-electronic devices

Due to the war and the current border situation, the import of new optical devices may be difficult or impossible. Repairing existing appliances often becomes the only alternative.

High need of the army

The growing needs of the army in optical devices make repairs even more urgent. Repair allows not only to save money, but also to reduce the amount of time when the necessary devices will be delivered to the soldiers on the front line. And in this case, every day can be decisive.

Lack of specialized repair services

Unfortunately, there is a lack of specialized services for the repair of optical and electronic devices in Ukraine. The repair of such devices requires experience and special equipment, so there are almost no services in Ukraine that undertake the repair of high-precision optical-electronic devices on a free basis.

The importance of repair

For a better understanding of the importance of quickly restoring the operational efficiency of optical devices, we decided to list the most common devices used by the Ukrainian army and how they help bring victory closer.

Thermal imaging sights

Thermal imaging sights have become an indispensable tool for the military in modern conflicts. Their ability to see in the dark and in low visibility conditions gives them a significant advantage on the battlefield.

Night vision devices

Allows soldiers to see in the dark, thanks to an electronic-optical converter. EOP – converts weak light streams and reproduces an enhanced image. This gives them a significant advantage at night, when the enemy can be disoriented.

Thermal imagers

Detects the heat emitted by objects, allowing soldiers to see in the dark, through bushes, dust or other obstacles. This can be useful for detecting enemy soldiers, equipment, and other objects that would otherwise be invisible to the human eye.

Drones

Equipped with cameras and thermal imaging, drones can be used to search for people over large areas or in dangerous areas inaccessible to humans.

At night, especially with temperature contrast, the Mavic 3T provides an excellent thermal image and allows you to see where the enemy is advancing, where he is retreating, where he has set up positions, and this is important. A thermal imaging camera gives an incredible number of possibilities for working at night.

In the context of hostilities in Ukraine, the repair of opto-electronic devices and drones becomes especially relevant. Providing soldiers with reliable and effective equipment is critical to successful combat operations. Optical devices are indispensable in combat, allowing the military to see the enemy at great distances and in difficult conditions.
